Louboutin unleashes your inner Princess

One of the world's most favorite shoe designer helps unleash your inner Princess! Christian Louboutin designs his version of Cinderella's glass slipper, of course with his signature red bottom. How did this collaboration come about?  The two empires partnered up to celebrate the release of "Cinderella Diamond Edition" on Blu-ray, scheduled to hit stores in October.

Louboutin first introduced the shoe in Paris during Couture Fashion Week.

Louboutin on designing the shoe, "You imagine it being completely transparent, made out of glass, but full and classical transparency made into a shoe makes a really ugly foot. And using a plastic, such as Lucite, could look very 60's or sort of punky."

Considering his factors, Louboutin used lace to create the illusion of a transparent shoe, paired with a Swarovski-crystal covered heel. These human Cinderella slippers will not be produced for mass sale. So how can you get them? 20 pairs will be given away worldwide this fall! YES, FREE LOUBOUTIN SLIPPERS. Unfortunately, Disney nor Louboutin have released directions on how the 20 lucky ladies can enter and win.....So stay tuned for further details!

.......Because Every Princess deserves a glass slipper, a red-bottom pair!

The "Beauty Guide" for Fall

Yup, Summer is almost over...and as much as I enjoy all the outdoor summer activities, I am so ready for Fall! Oh you didn't know? It's absolutely my favorite time of the year. Not only am I indulging in all the HUGE "September Issues" of all my favorite fashion magazines, but I'm also excited for all the Fashion events that take place in September.  It's when Fashion Week takes place in cities all around the world...and lets not forget, September 6, Fashions Night Out in a city near YOU!

So here's what's trending in the Beauty department for this upcoming season...........

1: Bold & Groomed Brows

Using Brow powders and wax will help add color dimension, fill in troubled spots and keep hairs in place through out the day!
Blink Brow Bar's Nourishing Brow oil helps stimulate growth

2: Hair Inspirations from the opposite sex....Set it & Go!

When I'm in the mood for a slicked back look, I faithfully turn to Redken's spray wax. It smells so good and it gives you a flexible hold without weighing down your hair.

3: Natural Nails

With Summer almost over, start getting ready to put the bright polishes away! The Runways were full of beiges, blush pinks, and brown manicures. But this doesn't mean you have to be totally bored. Mix in darker colors for an untraditional french manicure!

4: Bare Faces

Usually, we turn to runway shows to see bold dramatic looks. Nope, not this upcoming season. Designers like Michael Kors and Burberry sent their models out with BARELY there looks. From nude lips, light blushes and neutral eyes.....Fall is calling for the Natural You!

What trends are you loving/hating? What are you looking forward to for Fall?

Happy Birthday Coco Chanel!

Today we celebrate a Fashion Legend, Gabrielle "Coco" Bonheur Chanel. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on....and for that I would like to say, "Happy Happy Birthday Coco!"

Chanel liberated women from clothes that were restraining and introduced fabrics like Jersey to every woman's wardrobe.

The Chanel Suit became a casual look in expensive women's wear.

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same."

The concept of "The Little Black Dress" still lives on today. EVERY woman has one!

The House of Chanel became an empire. From handbags, Jewelry, perfume, cosmetics, shoes and the list goes on. Chanel did and always will fulfill our fashion needs!

The Lost of Fashion Contributor, Anna Piaggi.

On August 7, 2012 the fashion world lost a piece of inspiration. Anna Piaggi was born in 1931 in Milan. Her career in fashion began in the 60's as the editor of Italian women's magazine Arianna, and later became editor at avant-garde publicationVanity in the 80's. But Piaggi was best known for her collaboration with Vogue Italia which began in the 60's, and lead her to inspire the fashion world and become the muse of designers such Karl Lagerfeld and Manolo Blahnik.

Anna Piaggi was known for her funky eclectic style, her blue hair and her love of hats! "Hats are like a halo of happiness," she said.
According to a 2006 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, among many other pieces, her collection of clothes consisted of 2,865 dresses and 265 pairs of shoes.

Anna Piaggi & Karl Lagerfeld
Piaggi served as a muse to Karl Lagerfeld. Sketching her several times and even dedicating the book  Anna-Cronique to her in the 80's.
She married photographer Alfa Castaldi in 1962 in New York. He later passed away in 1955.

Piaggi's words on Fashion: "It is a moment, an expression. My philosophy of fashion is humor, jokes and games. I make my own rules. I never pick up something and just throw it on my back like that. There's a little bit of study, and it's always better if I think about what I'm going to wear the night before the next day. And what is to be avoided at all costs is the twin-set look, the total look."

Trade in Your Flip-Flops!

I can hardly believe that we are more then half way through summer, where did the time go? I took one trip to the boardwalk on a nice sunny Sunday and two trips to my cousins pool and that's it! The only factor that doesn't make me feel so bad about the whole situation is that it has been an extremely hot summer to be outdoors. I'm usually avoiding it all and staying cool under my air conditioner. Summer started with a bang and it looks like its going to end with one too, being that August is fore casted to be even more hot and humid then July.....OH BOY!

So since the heat doesn't plan on going anywhere, lets make sure we are staying cool & comfortable without compromising our personal style and still having fun with fashion. There are so many cute summer shoes out there, there is no reason to buy flip-flops in every color to match every summer outfit you own. (NO-NO)! So many colors, prints, and styles....there is a way to complete your BBQ or outdoor concert outfit for-sure!

ENJOY!

What is your summer-shoe of choice; A Wedge, Strappy Heal, Flat Sandal, Boat Shoe or Loafer/Flats?
