YAY! It's Friday!.....No big Plans, had a nice calm day. Accompanied my Boyfriend to get some art of his own tatted on his arm....on his way to completing a half sleeve. Then picked up some goodies for myself. New nail polishes, new music...oh and wore my new bomber jacket today, great addition to my wardrobe.

Love at First Sight!

Many people say they don't like window shopping, but because I have worked in a mall for the last 6 years....I enjoy spending some of my brake time just walking around and admiring creative window displays. That is my version of window shopping :) A great window display will tell a story, captivate the consumer and get them in the store, hopefully to spend money. Visual merchandisers work hard to dress the mannequins, show you ways to wear the latest trends that you may not think of, and give the store a certain persona or theme. At my job, I know many customers that NEED to see or be told how to put outfits together, because they don't have the eye to create a "LOOK"....and that's where the experts come in.

I found pictures of some cool window displays....cool themes, cool fashion and mannequins with a lot of personality! Enjoy!

So next time you go shopping, take some time to appreciate the displays that visual artist take so much time to create.....Get Inspired!

It's a Full House!

I remember when I was younger, always looking forward to watching my daily shows after school. One of them being "Full House." As the Olsen twins became teenagers, I felt like I was growing up alongside them. I remember I wanted to get any and everything that had their name on it. They established an empire at such a young age. This had its negative and positive aspects.....living life under a microscope can't possibly be fun.

Now the infamous twins are part of the in crowd in the fashion industry. In 2007, they launched "The Row." The Row is a luxury brand that started with a simple mission to design the perfect T-Shirt.

 

The sisters have since created a new line for The Row named after two of their siblings, "Elizabeth and James."

The Row is one of the latest label's to receive a fashion design nomination from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

A Few Steps Ahead!

Shoes, Shoes and more Shoes. They say Diamonds are a girls best-friend, so shoes must be a runner up!

Don't know too many females who don't have a shoe obsession. Wear the most basic outfit and throw on the hottest shoes and your set. Shoes are the period that complete a sentence. I gasp for air sometimes when I see a pair that I just have to add to my collection.

Designers always try to re-invent designs and keep fashion fresh and new. Some do it in a wearable manner and some just blow our mind, LITERALLY!

Are You Warm or Cool ?/?

Color theory isn't just a class you take if your a painter, it's also very very important for fashion. Understanding if you are warm or cool will help you have a wardrobe that works for you and helps you always look your best.

When you think of warm colors, think of fire and sunlight; red, yellow and orange.
When you think of cool colors, think of the sky and the ocean; blue, green and violet.

Depending on your hair, eye and skin combination.....most likely your going to look your best in colors from one end of the spectrum then the other....rarely BOTH.

Warm also look best in gold jewelry while cool looks its best in silver.

Remember, although blue is cooler then orange- you can find cooler or warmer tones within a color
FOR EXAMPLE: Red is cooler if its closer to violet and warmer if closer to orange.
Pink is warmer if it resembles more peach and cooler if its more of a mauve.
